See our Queensland Boulder Opal section for finished stones from our mine at mine prices.

We have established a relationship with Boulder opal’s primo miner from the richest and most productive mines in Queensland. We discount for volume purchases at prices as low or lower than AUSTRALIAN MINE-FIELD PRICES. Quality and Price is determined by the visible cutting material or as display specimens. BIG DISCOUNT described below.

Boulder opal is a “seam” opal in an ironstone matrix. The dark brown matrix polishes well. The opal seams are usually sculpted, except for thick bars that are cut traditionally. Our stock does not include the highest quality gem pieces, they can be obtained by special request. Generally, purchasing boulder opal from Tibara is like buying it at field prices — like buying it at the mine, without buying plane tickets, etc.
